Boron Nitride in Welding
Using Boron Nitride coatings in welding can consistently achieve clean and quality joints.
Welding projections, which can be easily deposited on welding nozzles, parts, fixtures, and other components, can significantly affect the functionality of the equipment involved. For example, they can impede gas flow and wire feed speed in industrial processes, leading to more frequent cleaning and maintenance.
HeBoCoat® aerosols and suspensions, as well as HeBoSint® sintered and machined parts, both based on Boron Nitride, can effectively form a protective surface or coating to prevent the adhesion of welding projections.
The excellent non-stick properties of Boron Nitride in relation to molten metals are used in this application as a considerable advantage to ensure quick and easy removal of welding projections. This significantly extends the lifespan of welding nozzles, as well as other components and accessories.

HeBoCoat® is the range of Boron Nitride coatings.
HeBoCoat® SPRAY LINE is the range of aerosol-based Boron Nitride coatings.

HeBoCoat®– Boron Nitride Coatings for Welding
There are Boron Nitride coatings – HeBoCoat® in water-based and ethanol-based formulations to meet specific customer needs.
Each application in welding requires specific coating properties, which is why there are three lines of coatings with different properties:
- HeBoCoat® Power Line: This is the most extensive range, with products in both water-based and ethanol-based formulations. It is designed for situations that require non-stick and lubricating properties.
- HeBoCoat® Expert Line: A specialised range of coatings designed for the most demanding situations. It is available in a water-based formulation and is used when top-tier performance is required.
- HeBoCoat® Spray Line: Boron Nitride coating in spray/aerosol form, known for its user-friendly and direct application. It allows for the swift application of non-stick and lubricating films without the need for additional equipment.
HeBoSint® – Sintered Boron Nitride Parts for Welding
On the other hand, sintered Boron Nitride parts – HeBoSint® – are machined based on the 3D model or plan provided by the user. This allows for obtaining sintered Boron Nitride parts with precise measurements for their application.
Depending on the environment and working requirements in their application, sintered parts offer different and specific compositions. Therefore, the HeBoSint® range has three product lines:
- HeBoSint® Pure Line: Parts made from pure Boron Nitride, without any binders and specifically designed for applications requiring high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, and a working temperature of up to 2300°C in a vacuum.
- HeBoSint® Classic Line: A versatile and reliable range of sintered Boron Nitride components. Due to their properties, this range offers the most applications.
- HeBoSint® Strong Line: A line known for its mechanical properties. Exceptional results are achieved by sintering Hexagonal Boron Nitride with Zirconium Dioxide or Aluminum Nitride.
