Boron Nitride in Aluminium Extrusion

During the extrusion process, aluminium bars are transformed under high pressure at temperatures of 450°C into a variety of profiles.

These working temperatures present specific challenges, particularly the aluminium’s tendency to adhere to the press and other working surfaces. Additionally, most release agents and lubricants break down at these temperatures, reducing their effectiveness.

By replacing traditionally used products with Boron Nitride-based products, it is possible to eliminate surface defects that would otherwise occur.

The result is optimised release and lubrication performance, even at high temperatures.

Electrostatically charged Boron Nitride – HeBoFill® can be sprayed as a powder and easily incorporated into existing production processes. Liquid suspensions of Boron Nitride – HeBoCoat® can also be supplied for certain applications.
